Research Internal Monitor

Location: St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid)
Schedule: Full-Time

This position is grant-funded for a period of five years and is therefore considered temporary in nature. While the role is expected to continue for the duration of the grant, ongoing employment is contingent upon continued funding.


Position Summary

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is seeking a Research Internal Monitor to support research compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory activities across clinical research programs. This role will conduct internal monitoring of research studies, support federal regulatory submissions, and help ensure compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and international research standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine monitoring of clinical research studies to ensure regulatory and protocol compliance.
  • Review research records and source documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support FDA regulatory submissions and maintenance of research regulatory files.
  • Assist with development of monitoring plans, quality improvement tools, and educational materials.
  • Provide guidance to research teams on audit readiness and compliance requirements.
  • Deliver training and support to investigators and research staff on research regulations and best practices.
  • Prepare monitoring reports and communicate findings and recommendations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a research, healthcare, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years conducting or monitoring clinical research.
  • Knowledge of clinical research regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and federal guidelines.
  • Experience with quality assurance and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic database applications.
  • RAC, SOCRA, ACRP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with research teams.

Salary Range: Minimum 27.85/hour - Maximum 44.57/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
