Position Title: Machine Operator

Reporting to: Production Manager

Department: Production

JOB SUMMARY



This manufacturing position is focused on our Generator Manufacturing Division. The ideal candidate will have experience working with precision measuring instruments and operating machinery. As a machine operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, responsible for operating machinery to cut and shape materials according to specifications provided in shop drawings.



RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Set up and operate machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.





  • Operate machinery to cut and shape materials according to shop drawings





  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency





  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to quality standards





  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance





  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment





  • To perform other duties as required from time to time as requested

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic shop drawings and work instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools and basic shop equipment.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and quality standards.


Preferred



  • Experience operating fabrication or machining equipment.
  • Experience working with steel, sheet metal, or fabricated components.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Experience in generator manufacturing, heavy equipment, welding, fabrication, or industrial production environments.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.



Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other safety equipment as required.



Working Conditions



  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment supporting generator production.
  • Regular exposure to machinery, industrial equipment, noise, and manufacturing materials.
  • May work in varying temperatures and conditions depending on production needs.
  • Requires regular interaction with Production, Quality, and Manufacturing team members.
  • Safety procedures and PPE requirements must be followed at all times.
