Title: Interim Accounting Manager
Pay Rate: $80-$100/hour range
Location: New York, NY (3-4 days/week onsite)

Our client is a publicly traded organization undergoing a period of transformation and growth. The company operates in a complex, multi-entity environment and is focused on strengthening its accounting and finance functions while supporting ongoing business initiatives.


Why the Position is Open:
The finance organization is experiencing significant change and requires additional senior-level accounting support to strengthen day-to-day accounting operations and assist with the month-end close process. The team is seeking a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly integrate into the organization and help maintain the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Reporting To:
* VP of Accounting


What They're Looking For:
* Active CPA preferred
* Strong public company and/or large corporate accounting experience
* Extensive month-end close and general ledger experience
* Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses
* Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
* Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen accounting controls
* Experience partnering with auditors and supporting audit requests
* Self-starter capable of operating independently with minimal oversight


Key Responsibilities:
* Support and help manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
* Review and prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations
* Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement analyses
* Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items
* Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
* Support internal and external audit requests and documentation requirements
* Assist with accounting process improvements and close optimization initiatives
* Partner with accounting leadership on special projects and operational accounting matters
* Provide ad hoc accounting support across the finance organization as needed

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
