Job Purpose:



Directly contributes to AEC's strategic plans and overall business growth by serving as a primary interface between Engineering, R&T, and AEC's Business Development organization to drive the insertion of ceramicmatrixcomposite (CMC) materials and emerging technologies into Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) production applications.



This individual identifies and leads internal and customerfacing initiatives that accelerate AEC's profitable growth through technology differentiation specifically within the AAM sector. Success requires strong relationships with target customers, AEC senior leadership, and crossfunctional collaboration to strengthen AEC's technical brand in a rapidly evolving market space.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the technical lead for CMC composite applications within the AAM market, identifying new opportunities and leading technology insertion efforts with new and existing customers.
  • Acts as the primary technical interface to AEC's Business Development team for AAMaligned platforms and technologies.
  • Directly contributes to the execution of customerfunded and internally funded development projects aimed at TRL 4-7 AAM applications.
  • Develops technical scopes of work, proposals, and preliminary production pricing guidance to support adoption of AEC technologies.
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to project engineers during project execution.
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with targeted AAM customers to identify:
  • Customer needs where AEC's technologies create differentiated value.
  • Nearterm and longterm AAM platform opportunities for CMC technology insertion.
  • Areas where customer R&D activities and AEC technical roadmaps could complement each other.
  • Strengthens AEC's visibility and brand in the AAM ecosystem through industry events, trade shows, and technical engagements.
  • Contributes to AEC's internal technical knowledge base as a recognized leader in CMC materials and processes for AAM applications.
  • Helps guide AEC's technology strategy by aligning customer needs and AAM market trends with AEC growth initiatives.


Job Location: Strong preference for Rochester, NH base but remote employee would be considered for strong candidate

Experience/Education/Skills

Qualifications/Characteristics:



  • 4-7 or more years of progressively responsible composite industry Engineering, Sales, and/or Marketing experience in an engineered products business required.
  • Ideal candidate has experience in CMCs, hypersonics, advanced electronics, or AAMrelated advanced materials.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Engineering, required. Advanced business or technical degree preferred but is not required.
  • Special consideration will be given to applicants who also have experience or training in aerospace composites or textile manufacturing with an understanding of the mechanics and strength of materials.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly or through collaboration in an R&T environment and/or organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional results within a relatively unstructured, tightly resourced, high-growth organization would be a significant competitive advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of the development and qualification/certification process in the aerospace industry as the pathway for new engineered products production opportunities.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Engineering, required. Advanced business or technical degree would be a competitive advantage but is not required.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% monthly.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.

Working Conditions:



Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise, and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition levels. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations require. Some may be able to do part of their work remotely. Travel may be required (up to 40%).



Physical requirements:



Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.


Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings.


Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.


Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc...
