Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to electrical and I&C, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards;
- Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans;
- Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non- Conformance reports as required;
- Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment;
- Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in support of project work and/or maintenance activities;
- Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results;
- Establish priorities which support construction/operation's needs;
- Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments;
- Provide leadership which inspires efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each individuals' commitment to site policies;
- Participate in contract discussions relating to quality activities;
- Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities;
- Review and approve subcontractors' quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures;
- Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards;
- Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed;
- Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks; and
- Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with at least 8 years (8-10 years preferred) of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; an associate's degree and at least 10 years (10-12 years preferred) of practical experience; or a high school diploma and at least 12 years (12-16 years preferred) of practical experience would be considered equivalent.

- Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. (required)
- Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
- Well-developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents are required.
- Certification in areas of responsibility are required with ongoing programmatic training per the requirements of the project quality program.
- Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program.
- Prior DOE work experience.
- Well-developed organizational skills with good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
- Practical field experience in electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) quality control within the last 16 months
- Contract Duration - One year base with two renewal year options
- Location - Onsite in Aiken, SC. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
- Work Schedule - Monday to Friday 630 am - 430pm
