Industrial Operations Intern/Co-op Position Summary The Industrial Operations Intern supports daily operational activities and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or production environment. This role provides hands-on experience in operations management, process optimization, data analysis, quality assurance, and project coordination while working closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams. What you'll do:
- Assist in monitoring and improving operational processes and workflows.
- Collect, analyze, and report operational performance data.
- Support production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
- Help identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
- Assist with inventory tracking, materials management, and supply chain operations.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for operational metrics and KPIs.
- Conduct process observations, audits, and documentation updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational goals and project execution.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.
Position Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, operations management, supply chain management, manufacturing engineering, business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity software.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Characteristics:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or visualization tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain concepts.
- Basic understanding of production, logistics, or warehouse operations.
