Intern DSV - Global transport and logistics Location: Lancaster, TX Division: Road US Summary At DSV Road, the Intern, Freight Operations gains hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day execution of domestic transportation operations. This internship provides exposure to customer freight operations, carrier procurement, transportation brokerage, and supply chain execution while developing a foundational understanding of how freight moves from pickup through final delivery. Working alongside experienced Operations Account Managers and Carrier Sales Representatives, the intern assists with shipment tracking, carrier communication, customer service, freight documentation, reporting, and operational support. Through coaching, mentorship, and real-world experience, the intern develops the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management. This role is primarily performed in an office environment and requires extended periods of sitting, frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone. The position also requires occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting or carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds. Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment supporting domestic transportation operations. The intern will work closely with operations professionals, carrier sales representatives, customers, carriers, and cross-functional teams while receiving coaching and mentorship throughout the internship. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while developing a strong foundation in transportation and logistics operations.
