Moog Space Division is looking for a Sales and Proposal Manager on-site in our East Aurora, NY or Niagara Falls, NY location. You will report into the Growth and Strategy Team and is responsible for leading the end-to-end process of responding to customer requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs). You will deliver high-quality, compliant, winning proposals on time and with maximum efficiency, and facilitates the functional, legal, and compliance aspects of contract acceptance, managing customer contacts, leading customer-capture efforts, and managing CRM.

As an Sales and Proposal Manager you will have responsibilities for....

  • Promote customer intimacy and relationships that foster growth with our best customers.

  • Lead the proposal lifecycle. From intake and kickoff through writing, reviews, production, submission, and post-submission debriefs.

  • Manage proposal budget, track proposal status, and maintain proposal archives and metrics including CRM.

  • Lead cross-functional proposal teams. Align business development, subject matter experts (SMEs), cost and pricing, legal, finance, etc to deliver required content and generate winning proposals.

  • Ensure compliance and quality. Support Legal, Contract and Compliance reviews of proposals. Verify responses meet RFP requirements.

  • Participate in proposal elements including competitor assessment, strategic fit, price to win, program risks and opportunities, proposal resources, program resources, lead times.

  • Drive timeline and resource allocation. Create schedules, assign tasks, track milestones, keep work on time, submit proposals on time.

  • Oversee reviews and approvals. Organize and execute content reviews and consolidate feedback.

  • Maintain content and templates. Build and curate a proposal content library, standard templates, boilerplate language, and past-performance references.

  • Assist in optimizing process and tools, ex: process workflows, proposal automation, content management, version control, and submission tools.

  • Support performance and improvement initiatives. Leverage KPIs (win rates, response time, etc) to drive process improvements and training.

  • Develop strategic plans with the Business Unit and the Growth and Strategy Team and implement tactical decisions.

  • Provide timely and accurate inputs into CRM, ensuring overall accuracy.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in an Engineering or Business field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Sales, Proposal process management, Engineering, or Program Management including experience as a lead customer interface.

  • Experience using CRM tools to track customer interactions, opportunities and bookings forecasting.

  • Strong program/project management experience

  • Communication and collaboration skills to successfully satisfy internal and external customers.

  • Ability to manage through influence without direct line reporting in a fast-paced growth environment.

  • Experience in the space industry and/or electronics/avionics is a plus

  • Ability to obtain a US DOD security clearance.

  • Ability to access US export-controlled information (ITAR).

  • Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $130,000.00-$175,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
