Virtual Program Advisor - Generation Park FUNCTION: The function of the Evening Virtual Program Advisor is to provide academic and career advising, registration and assist students with interpreting college/program policies. Essential Job Functions: Provides academic advising, registration assistance, and assistance in accessing and navigating institutional requirements to current students in a virtual setting. Communicate with students virtually (chat, zoom, and email) to provide advising assistance. Guide students in choosing a pathway. Inform and referring students to other institutional resources as needed (counseling, tutoring, career services, etc.) Perform related duties as required or deemed necessary to meet program advising goals. Demonstrate continued knowledge of institutional changes including new programs, course changes, important dates, costs, and updates in university-wide initiatives and polices. Additional Job Functions: Assist with graduation application process and commencement activities. Serve as a liaison and foster intentional relationships with other advisors, offices, and departments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services. Demonstrate working functional knowledge and use of Microsoft Office. Must possess outstanding communication, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented. Must be able to work independently and problem solve. Demonstrate the desire to learn new software requirements to support office functions & efficiency. Adapt to learning new tasks & skills. Required Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university required. Required Experience: Possess personal computer literacy and good organizational skills. Preferred Experience: Experience / training in one or more of the following areas: education, teaching, academic advising, recruiting, sales, customer service, marketing, or public relations - preferably at Community College level. Banner experience preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Note: Although this position is considered completely remote, the duties of this position require physical presence at the assigned on-site work location for training and other required meetings. This position is completely remote. Scheduled hours are Monday - Thursday 2:00 pm - 11:30 pm and Sunday 5:00pm-11:00pm. Some Saturdays may be required.
