Job Title: Service Engineer

Location(s): Chester, VA

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to support enterprise data center and server environments, including next-generation AI infrastructure. This is a customer-facing, hands-on role responsible for maintaining server uptime, troubleshooting hardware issues, performing repairs, and supporting critical data center operations. Prior AI platform experience is not required; strong server and data center experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for enterprise server and data center hardware.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and repair server systems.
  • Perform server builds, hardware swaps, component replacements, and firmware updates.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and operating system issues.
  • Execute preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Follow established plans of action (POA) for issue resolution.
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate technical records.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal technical teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and occasional off-hours support.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience supporting enterprise servers, field services, or data center environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Server builds and deployments
    • CPU, memory, power supply, GPU, and server replacements
    • Server hardware troubleshooting
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in customer environments.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work on-site, on-call, and flexible schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with water-cooled servers.
  • Dell or other OEM hardware certifications.
  • Personal PC building experience.
  • Familiarity with AI server platforms.
  • Experience working in mission-critical enterprise environments.

Additional Information:

  • Candidates should reside within approximately 45 minutes of the work location.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Extension and contract-to-hire opportunities available.
  • Weekly project touchpoint meetings are required after onboarding.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM (Occasional shift changes and on-call support required).
