Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department Gastroenterology PhysiciansJob Summary The Division of Digestive and Liver Health at Denver Health & Hospital Administration is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our well-established hospital employed practice. The ideal candidate will provide high quality clinical care to our patients, has interest in training future Gastroenterologists, and will feel supported to pursue scholarly activities. Denver Health is formally affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where all faculty have academic appointments The Division of Digestive and Liver Health delivers integrated outpatient and inpatient consultative care. Denver Health's state-of-the-art Outpatient Medical Center (OMC) opened in 2021 and houses the Endoscopy Lab which now averages over 120 general GI procedures per week. The OMC is also the location for our gastroenterology and hepatology clinics which complete over 300 visits per month. The inpatient service, comprised of a faculty attending, one of our 15 University of Colorado GI fellows, and frequently a medicine resident, medical student, or a Physician's Assistant student, provides consultations and performs procedures for patients on the medicine and surgery wards and in the ICUs. Our interventional endoscopist performs all advanced procedures for both inpatients and outpatients. Denver Healthis an integrated academic health care system, including nine community health centers and a Level I 525-licensed bed hospital, that is considered a model for the nation. Denver Health delivers care to over 200,000 unique patients, 60% who are from diverse and varied backgrounds speaking over 23 different languages, most commonly Spanish. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an Accredited Medical School and completion of an Accredited Residency and Specialty Fellowship, or equivalent training for physicians who did not train in United States. Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology. Strong clinical and professional skills are essential to manage challenging patient volumes in the clinic and endoscopy lab. The ability to interact effectively with people of varied educational, value systems, and socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds will be necessary. A history of effective communication and collaboration with referring health care providers and medical support staff is highly desired. Credentials: MD, DO, or equivalent. Current ACLS/BLS certification. Medical license to practice in State of Colorado. All physicians must be board certified or board eligible. If fellowship was completed recently, board certification must be completed within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the office of Medical Administration. Certifications, registrations, and licenses required for this position must be kept current as a condition of continued employment as outlined in HR Principles and Practices #2-110 Appendix, Maintaining Licensures, Location Denver Health Main Campus. Call coverage includes Denver Health, the University of Colorado Hospital, and the Eastern Colorado VA Hospital.
