Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time Finance and Accounting Assistant for Mason Gross School of the Arts (
MGSA). Reporting to the Business Analyst Supervisor, this position provides support in the areas of budget, accounting, planning, and operational activities.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Tracks, monitors, and reconciles expenditures, and commitments for the Dean's Office within MGSA.
- Processes a variety of financial transactions including journal entries, project cost adjustments, expense corrections, requisitions, and procurement requests.
- Maintains and updates financial tracking systems and databases, including Airtable and other University financial systems.
- Prepares and distributes recurring financial reports.
- Reviews and analyzes revenue and expenditure activity to identify trends, variances, and potential budget concerns and recommend corrective actions as appropriate and in accordance to university compliance and accounting standards.
- Serves as a liaison with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Procurement, and other administrative offices to resolve financial and operational issues.
- Backs up other administrators with Payroll entries.
- Arises to other business support duties assigned.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in budget, accounting or finance.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience.
