Postdoctoral Researcher

Job Summary

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher.

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Essential Functions

• The candidate will carry out in research in the group led by Dr. Akhil Vaidya in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The work will consist of molecular and cell biology of malaria parasites involving application of advance techniques such as genetic manipulations of malaria parasites, live cell imaging, and cryo-electron microscopic structural studies. The applicant should have PhD in microbiology or related fields and experience in having worked with malaria parasites.

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Microbiology or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630 to $81,940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position will vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
