What is this role about?
McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a Senior Manager of Talent Management & Employee Experience. This individual will lead the design and execution of high-impact talent, performance, and employee experience initiatives aligned to McGraw Hill's strategic priorities. This role will partner closely with HR, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance performance management practices, strengthen leadership capability, and deliver scalable programs that improve engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.

The position is project-based and focused on driving measurable outcomes across talent lifecycle programs at scale.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This position is project based (Project Status Worker).

What you will be doing:

Performance Management & Talent Strategy

  • Lead end-to-end performance management processes, including goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, calibration, and continuous feedback enablement
  • Design and implement enhancements to performance frameworks, tools, and processes to improve clarity, consistency, and adoption
  • Drive talent review and succession planning processes, including talent assessments, high-potential identification, and development planning
  • Partner with HRBPs and leaders to align talent strategies with business priorities

Learning, Leadership & Capability Development

  • Design, develop, and facilitate leadership development programs and manager enablement sessions (e.g., feedback, coaching, performance conversations)
  • Deliver scalable learning solutions using a blended approach (instructor-led, digital, and experiential learning)
  • Support enterprise-wide L&D initiatives tied to priority capabilities (e.g., leadership effectiveness, change agility, performance culture)

Program Design & Project Execution

  • Manage complex, cross-functional talent and HR programs from design through implementation
  • Develop project plans, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience
  • Drive change management and communications strategies to support adoption of new programs and tools

Stakeholder Partnership & Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders on talent management, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment to reduce silos and improve execution across initiatives
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on talent data, engagement trends, and program outcomes

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in talent management, performance management, learning & development, or employee experience
  • Proven experience managing performance management cycles and talent review processes at scale
  • Strong program management and project execution skills across complex, matrixed environments
  • Experience designing and facilitating leadership development or manager enablement programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience supporting global or multi-region organizations
  • Familiarity with engagement survey tools, HRIS, and learning platforms (e.g., LMS)
  • Experience in high-growth, transformation, or matrixed environments
  • Exposure to change management methodologies

The pay range for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
