About this role
We are looking for a skilled Pump Repair Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and test industrial pumps and rotating equipment. Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage starting at $25-40/hr, depending on experience and qualifications, plus relocation assistance if needed. What You'll Do
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose centrifugal, positive displacement, vertical turbine, submersible, and other industrial pumps.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and rotating equipment according to OEM specifications.
- Replace bearings, seals, sleeves, impellers, shafts, wear rings, gaskets, and other critical components.
- Perform shaft alignment, impeller adjustments, and precision mechanical repairs.
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges to inspect and verify component tolerances.
- Conduct hydrostatic, vibration, operational, and performance testing to ensure repaired equipment meets quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, repair manuals, and technical documentation.
- Document inspection findings, repair recommendations, labor, parts used, and completed work accurately.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hydraulic presses, balancing equipment, and other shop machinery.
- Assist with field service work, including equipment removal, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure successful project completion.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical skills and shop performance.
What You'll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred.
- Previous experience repairing industrial pumps, rotating equipment, or similar mechanical equipment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and mechanical inspection tools.
- Knowledge of bearing installation, mechanical seals, shaft alignment, and rotating equipment repair.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment, hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and other lifting devices.
- Basic computer skills for work order documentation and time entry.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technicians, supervisors, and customers.

- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in both shop and field environments as needed.
