Job Summary

The Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator is responsible for conducting impartial investigations into workplace discrimination, harassment, and other Equal Employment Opportunity-related complaints. This role provides expert guidance on EEO policies, conducts fact-finding investigations, prepares comprehensive investigative reports, and delivers training to promote an inclusive and respectful workplace. The EEO Investigator partners with Human Resources, leadership, employees, and external agencies to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational policies.

Job Responsibilities



  • Conduct impartial investigations into employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other EEO-related complaints.
  • Perform fact-finding interviews, assess witness credibility, and collect and analyze documentary evidence.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive, and well-documented investigative reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and recommend appropriate resolutions for internal and external EEO-related complaints.
  • Participate in mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and meetings with government agencies as required.
  • Research and remain current on Equal Employment Opportunity laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and deliver EEO training and awareness programs covering topics such as discrimination, harassment, reasonable accommodations, workplace respect, and compliance.
  • Provide advice and consultation to Human Resources, managers, and employees regarding EEO policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Build collaborative relationships with leadership, employees, union representatives, and external stakeholders.
  • Exercise sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and effectively manage multiple investigations to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support emergency response assignments when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 5 years of direct Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting employment discrimination investigations, including fact-finding interviews, credibility assessments, evidence analysis, and investigative reporting.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations.
  • Subject matter expertise in EEO investigations, complaint handling, case management, and investigative techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload while meeting established deadlines.
  • Experience preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive investigative reports.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive and complex workplace matters.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience presenting training and facilitating discussions preferred.
  • Strong consulting, influencing, and stakeholder management skills preferred.
  • Ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor and Employment Law, Organizational Development, Business Management, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Labor and Employment Law, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
