Field Superintendent - Life Safety Systems

Location: Childress, TX

Position Type: Long-Term Contract (1+ Year)

Pay Rate: $50-$75 per Hour DOE + $150/Day Per Diem (7 Days/Week)

Schedule: Approximately 50 Hours per Week, Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Field Superintendent - Life Safety Systems to oversee life safety and low-voltage construction activities on a large-scale industrial/high-tech project. This role is responsible for managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality standards, and driving safety compliance from project kickoff through completion.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and supervise life safety systems installation projects, subcontractors, and field teams.
  • Coordinate daily activities with construction managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Manage project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and QA/QC programs.
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, local codes, and permitting requirements.
  • Identify and resolve design, constructability, and field installation challenges.
  • Oversee safety compliance, cost control initiatives, and contractor performance.
  • Support project staffing, progress reporting, and client communications.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.



Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or GED required; degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of low-voltage electrical or life safety systems construction experience.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Experience supporting large industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, cleanroom, or high-tech construction projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage distribution systems, UPS equipment, and electrical installations.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work extended or off-shift hours as project schedules require.
