Description:

Our Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville Minnesota is seeking a Senior Technician (T3) to join our team of experienced engineers and technicians supporting design engineering and production (OE). As a member of our team, you will lead in building and assembling innovative test solutions supporting both commercial and defense sensor products. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of test solutions at various stages of their life cycle. A successful candidate will be a fast learner with the ability to respond to requests efficiently, have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical test system build and assembly, and a curiosity to troubleshoot and solve test equipment problems.

This is a 1-year contract role with the intent to extend a full-time position upon completion and success within role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

* You will be responsible for building and assembling test hardware (cables, valve boxes, control boxes, interface boxes, etc.) and test solutions per engineering drawings, as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical equipment and device problems on the production line. This team utilizes various tools (hand, air, pneumatic, electric, etc.) to support the building of equipment.

* You will create and review test system designs and documentation with engineering to meet customer requirements. Will work in updating documentation (drawings, schematics, BOM, classification) or providing markups of new and existing test hardware as well as supply build notes for next-time builds.

* You will troubleshoot issues reported by operations and provide the necessary repairs to solutions (cables, boxes, racks, etc.) in a timely manner.

* You will work in a collaborative team environment and be able to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, and technicians.

* You will work on electrical, mechanical (pressure), and video test equipment. Learning how to become a system integrator of custom-built and COTS equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

* Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

* Demonstrated experience in building complex cable assemblies, test boxes, and assemblies of test systems for the aviation industry (military specification, AS9100). Experience with MIL-spec and Hypertronics connectors are preferred.

* Proficient knowledge of tools, testing equipment, soldering, and crimping (hand, electric, pneumatic).

* Proficient knowledge reviewing and editing engineering schematics and wire lists, and Minnesota State Electrical codes and statues to pass inspection. Familiarity with high-voltage and high-pressure equipment is a plus.

* Demonstrates good communication and mentorship skills.

* Strong understanding of Electronics and Electrical design and safety.

* Familiarity with CAD modeling software, preferably SolidWorks or Creo.

* Hands-on mentality with a curiosity to understand how components interact in a system.

* Familiarity with standard avionics busses including 1553, ARINC, CAN, RS485, RS232, and 1394

* Familiarity with ALM JIRA project management (Agile).

* Able to function at a high level with multiple tasks and projects, and to effectively change direction based upon business needs.
