THE POSITION

The Division of Federal Programs is seeking a Basic Education Associate who cares about student success and quality learning. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position manages the Title IV-A grant program to support student enrichment, safety, health, and effective use of technology. Work involves ensuring resources are used properly while completing tasks such as reviewing grant applications, providing training, monitoring compliance, and supporting school district needs. As a Basic Education Associate 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Grant Oversight: Guide the review of grant applications and ensure they meet federal and state requirements
  • Program Monitoring: Conduct compliance checks, collect data, and evaluate program performance across school districts
  • Training Support: Create and deliver training and technical assistance for educators and program staff
  • Resource Management: Support the efficient use of funding and ensure spending aligns with approved guidelines
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with school leaders, agencies, and partners to support program goals and student success
  • Research Activities: Analyze information and respond to district inquiries to support program improvement

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional experience in the field of education; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires a valid and active K-12 teaching certificate.
