THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a hardworking, outdoor-driven Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1 to help build, maintain, and enhance Pennsylvania's game lands and wildlife habitats. Int this role, you will operate heavy equipment, construct and repair infrastructure, manage habitat projects, assist with prescribed fires, and work across forests, fields, and rugged terrain to support healthy ecosystems and public access. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the maintenance, repair, and improvement of game land structures and outdoor areas used by wildlife and the public. As a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Field Maintenance: Assist with mowing, habitat projects, and general outdoor upkeep
- Infrastructure Work: Help maintain roads, bridges, parking areas, gates, and signs
- Range Support: Perform tasks that keep public shooting ranges safe and functional
- Repair Assistance: Take part in construction and repair of various game land structures
- Team Collaboration: Work with field staff to support conservation and public access needs
- Outdoor Readiness: Carry out physical tasks in varied weather and terrain conditions
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Alternate Work Schedule may apply.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
- One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
- One year of construction equipment operation experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
- This position requires the selected candidate to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year of employment in this job.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
