Position Purpose:

Oversees the day-to-day underwriting operations including budget and staff planning as well as direct supervision of personnel to successfully accomplish company underwriting objectives and compliance. Identifies, analyzes, and manages the assigned line of business for maximum profitability. Develops corporate underwriting guidelines and strategies for risk acceptability.

Location:

This is hybrid position, we are looking for candidates in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. After the training period this individual will be in office either one or two days a week. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, from 8:30am - 5pm.

WhatYou'llDo:

  • Screens applications to ensure accuracy of data entered into system and updates system with status of pending applications. Uses underwriting guidelines to make initial decisions to approve, decline, or assign received applications. Analyzes, rates, and processes new business proposals according to established guidelines.
  • Provides quality customer service, responding accurately and timely to telephone and written inquiries from customers.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining written procedures for underwriting review. Prepares departmental reporting as needed.
  • Prepares stop loss proposals and forwards to stop loss carriers for quotes.

To QualifyForThis Position, You'll NeedThe Following:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's.

  • Degree Equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience.
