Title: Assistant Inventory and Logistics Coordinator

Location: In-Person - Lansing, Michigan

Temporary Position - Funding thru 09/30/2027



Purpose: To Support the Bureau of Emergency Preparedness, EMS and Systems of Care (BEPESoC) within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) by bringing expertise in inventory and logistics to assist in coordinating warehouse space, organize deliveries, and coordinator shipments to partners throughout the state of Michigan. The ideal candidate is comfortable using a provided truck to move trailers, has or is willing to obtain a forklift certification, and is knowledgeable of basic maintenance typically associated with a warehouse and trailers.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods.
  • Responsible for receiving and recording new stock as it arrives and moving stock onto shelves or trucks as needed.
  • Implement an inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures.
  • Document daily shipments and deliveries to ensure inventory is accurate.
  • Create and sustain a detailed inventory.
  • Evaluate new inventory and ensure it is ready to ship.
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members on current inventory.
  • Always represent the best interest of MPHI and MDHHS.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Qualifications/Requirements:

* Must have a Valid Driver's License*



Education: High School Diploma Required.



Experience: 2 year's experience in the field.

  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multi task with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work efficiently in high stress situations, such as that which may occur during a known or suspect public health emergency.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.



Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Typical warehouse environment. 75% - 100% of the workday is spent in the warehouse. May require ability to work more than the typical 8-hour workday when the MDHHS Community Health Emergency Coordination Center (CHECC) is activated including weekends and holidays.



RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No Assigned Responsibilities.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS.
