Location: Culver City, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $77.29/hour


Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced UX Writer to help create engaging, customer-focused experiences across a portfolio of digital services. This role will focus on customer acquisition and retention initiatives, developing content that guides users through seamless experiences across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong UX writing expertise with marketing copywriting skills and understands how content influences customer behavior. You'll work closely with designers, product managers, growth marketers, engineers, and business partners to create thoughtful, user-centered messaging that aligns with business goals while maintaining a consistent brand voice.


Responsibilities
UX Writing & Content Design

  • Create clear, concise, and engaging UX copy for customer experiences across multiple digital platforms.
  • Write content that supports acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and customer retention initiatives.
  • Develop user-centered messaging that improves usability and enhances the overall customer journey.
  • Ensure all content aligns with established voice, tone, language, and design systems.


Marketing & Customer Communications

  • Write compelling headlines, in-app messaging, push notifications, and other customer touchpoints.
  • Develop on-brand email content that encourages customer engagement and action.
  • Create messaging that balances customer needs with marketing objectives and business goals.
  • Adapt messaging across multiple channels while maintaining consistency and clarity.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with UX designers, product managers, growth marketing teams, engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in content reviews, design critiques, and collaborative workshops.
  • Advocate for the customer while balancing technical constraints, marketing priorities, and product requirements.
  • Incorporate feedback from cross-functional partners to continuously improve content quality.


Optimization & Experimentation

  • Analyze content performance and identify opportunities to improve user engagement.
  • Support experimentation through A/B testing and iterative content refinement.
  • Use customer insights and performance data to inform content decisions.
  • Continuously optimize messaging to improve customer experience and business outcomes.


Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience in UX writing, content design, content strategy, or digital copywriting.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX writing and customer-focused content across digital products.
  • Experience writing for customer acquisition, engagement, or retention initiatives.
  • Ability to write within established brand voice, tone, and design systems.
  • Experience creating:

    • UX copy
    • Headlines
    • Push notifications
    • In-app messaging
    • Email campaigns
    • Customer journey content


  • Strong understanding of UX principles and content design best practices.
  • Excellent written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside designers, product managers, marketers, and engineers.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback in an iterative design environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting growth marketing or lifecycle marketing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with customer journey mapping and content optimization.
  • Experience using A/B testing and performance insights to improve messaging.
  • Understanding of UX research and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Passion for creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences that drive measurable results.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
