Truck Trailer Mechanic

What are the Duties?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Preventative Maintenance and repairs on Trucks and Trailers including DOT inspections
• Conduct Inspections and document on electronic checklists to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Document repairs and complete electronic work orders utilizing our in-house maintenance management system
• Experience with repairs including brakes, air system, lighting, landing gears, and doors
• Must be able to work independently and follow safety procedures and company policies
• Ability to be a dependable team player
• Major shop tools and diagnostic equipment is provided
• Trailer experience and Diesel experience helpful
• Candidates must supply their own standard hand tools to perform daily responsibilities
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
• The associate must be able to read and write repair complaint, cause, corrections inside of inhouse maintenance system.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years trailer body work experience is a must
• Basic computer/trouble shooting skills
• CDL is a plus
• Welding Experience a plus
• Must be able to obtain DOT Med card

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the last 3 years.
• No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past 5 years (ie., DUI/DWI).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
