As a Member Services Representative, you'll be the friendly face that welcomes members, guests, and program participants each day. As the first point of contact at our Welcome Center, you'll play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive experience while helping individuals and families connect with everything the YMCA has to offer.
What You'll Do
Welcome & Support Members
- Greet members, guests, and visitors with a friendly, welcoming attitude.
- Build positive relationships that help members feel connected to the YMCA community.
- Answer questions, resolve concerns, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist members with program registrations, account updates, and general membership needs.
- Recommend YMCA programs and services based on members' interests and goals.
Daily Operations
- Process memberships, registrations, and transactions accurately.
- Manage member check-ins, phone calls, and general Welcome Center operations.
- Maintain accurate member records using YMCA systems.
- Stay informed on YMCA programs, schedules, policies, and procedures to provide accurate information.
Safety & Teamwork
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming Welcome Center environment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow YMCA safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with teammates and departments to ensure an exceptional member experience.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture that reflects the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent preferred. Current high school and college students are encouraged to apply.
- Previous customer service, hospitality, retail, or front desk experience is a plus but not required.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for helping others.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn membership, registration, and point-of-sale systems.
- CPR and First Aid certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Open schedules are: Sundays from 2 pm to 7 pm, Mondays from 1 pm to 6 pm, and Tuesdays from 830am to 1 pm. There will also be other shifts that you can pick up.

- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Frequent use of computers and other office equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

- Must be able to maintain awareness of the Welcome Center environment and respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, member-focused environment while maintaining a positive, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
