Join a winning team supporting the Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista as a Community Benefits Coordinator supporting the AHEC Department. Working together you'll bring your expertise, compassion and excellence to all we do. The ideal candidate will be passionate about public health and serving the south bay community through support groups, classes and programs.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Coordinating community health programs
  • Coordinating/following up with patient discharge needs
  • Supporting Director with new development of programs, evaluation and narrative reporting

Overarchingly, this role is responsible for the following:

  • Coordinating and implementing all community-based education and prevention activities. Core activities include coordination of curriculum development for community educational programs, teaching and education, assisting with reporting and proposal development, outreach and education as well as follow up with patients and program participants.
  • Participant recruitment and completion of the programs.
  • Developing and presenting curricula for education programs and community presentations.
  • Participating in grant proposal writing.
  • Coordination of the evaluation, tracking and reporting required by program funders.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Accountability and fostering teamwork
  • Managing performance, oral and written communication
  • Verbal and oral presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health or Social or Physical Science Degree
  • 2-4 years community-based work experience
  • Experience in teaching and facilitating parenting classes

  • Experience facilitating presentations
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
