What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an experiencedCommissioning Superintendentto join our Infrastructure Facilities & Commissioning team. This senior field leadership role is responsible for driving the successful field execution of commissioning programs across facilities infrastructure projects, including HVAC, process piping, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. The ideal candidate is a proven field leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, plans meticulously, and executes within tight windows. This role works closely with commissioning engineers, operations, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure all systems are delivered safely, on time, and to Tesla's standards.
What You'll Do
- Own and drive field execution of commissioning programs, ensuring all activities meet Tesla specifications and design intent
- Prepare BOM for commissioning execution and request RFQ and RFP
- Develop and manage commissioning schedules, pre-functional checklists (PFCs), and functional performance tests (FPTs)
- Oversee full system turnover from construction through commissioning to operations handover, including all documentation and punch list closeout
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and manufacturers during equipment start-up and testing
- Review P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and design documents to verify compliance, constructability, and operability
- Support the development of commissioning BOMs, RFQs, and RFPs to ensure all necessary equipment, tools, and resources are procured ahead of execution
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Management Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of commissioning or facilities engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or supervisory role
- Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, process piping, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
- Proficiency in commissioning and turnover documentation platforms
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and contract documents
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
