Overview

Innovator ETFs is seeking a Vice President, Product Development to support the firm's product strategy and development efforts, with a focus on identifying, evaluating, and commercializing differentiated ETF solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leveraging the breadth of investment capabilities, research, and intellectual property available through Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and the broader Goldman Sachs platform to develop innovative ETF offerings. This individual will work closely with investment teams, product specialists, and business partners across the firm to assess market opportunities, develop product strategies, and bring new ETF solutions to market.

This role is well suited for an individual with a strong understanding of the ETF industry, a passion for product innovation, and the ability to build relationships and drive initiatives across a complex organization. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, intellectually curious, and capable of identifying opportunities where investment expertise can be translated into scalable ETF products.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Development



  • Support product strategy and development efforts for ETF initiatives across a broad range of investment capabilities and client segments.
  • Identify market opportunities through analysis of client demand, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving investor needs.
  • Evaluate and develop new ETF concepts leveraging the breadth of GSAM's investment platform, research capabilities, and intellectual property.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of ETF opportunities from concept generation through launch.
  • Develop business cases and product recommendations to support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the ETF landscape, regulatory developments, competitive positioning, and industry trends.


Product Innovation & Commercialization



  • Partner with investment teams across GSAM and Goldman Sachs to identify proprietary capabilities, research, and investment insights that can be delivered through ETF structures.
  • Evaluate opportunities to expand Innovator's leadership position in Defined Outcome ETFs while developing new categories of investment solutions.
  • Assess opportunities to commercialize existing investment capabilities through the ETF vehicle.
  • Lead the development and commercialization of differentiated and first-to-market ETF concepts.
  • Serve as an advocate for ETF innovation across the organization, helping investment teams recognize opportunities to broaden the reach of their investment capabilities through ETFs.


Partnership Across Goldman Sachs



  • Build strong relationships with portfolio managers, strategists, researchers, quantitative teams, and product specialists across GSAM and the broader Goldman Sachs organization.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to translate institutional investment expertise into scalable ETF products.
  • Leverage Goldman Sachs intellectual property, research, and investment capabilities to develop differentiated ETF offerings.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across multiple business areas to advance strategic product initiatives.


Cross-Functional Leadership & Product Launches



  • Partner closely with Product Operations, Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, and National Accounts throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Work with the broader Innovator team to develop launch strategies, product positioning, advisor messaging, and commercialization plans for new ETF offerings.
  • Support Sales and National Accounts teams through product education, competitive analysis, and market insights.
  • Present product recommendations and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and governance committees.



Skills & Qualifications

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of ETF industry experience in product development, product strategy, capital markets, portfolio solutions, investment research, or related functions.
  • Strong understanding of ETF structures, investment products, portfolio construction, and product commercialization.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop investment product opportunities.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across a large organization.
  • Highly self-driven, proactive, and entrepreneurial with a strong bias toward execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred



  • Progress toward the CFA designation or CFA Charterholder.
  • Experience working within an asset management organization.
  • Familiarity with options-based investing, defined outcome strategies, quantitative investing, indexing, alternatives, or thematic investing.
  • Experience bringing investment products from concept through launch.



Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Chicago, IL, United States-based position is $100000-$230000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
