Job Description

The Corporate Senior Manager - Space Planning & Segmentation is the UNITED Coca-Cola lead on NRS/key regional customer space projects. The Senior Manager- Space Planning & Segmentation interacts with and influences retail customers in the space planning process. The position also supervises the Space Planning Team on customer space projects, brand standards, and the development of space resources and insights. The Senior Manager collaborates with the Corporate Director- Marketing on advancing segmentation and other key category and space team initiatives.

What your day will look like:
  • Align and manage the corporate space team to deliver best in class work across UNITED for our sales organization, cross-functional teams, and retail customers. Coach, develop, and train team throughout the year. Collaborate to improve team processes, routines, andproduction.
  • Manage all aspects of the space planning process the team will follow including store surveys, plan-o-gram preparation, data management, SKU assortment, category mix, new item introductions, deletions, and reporting/ layout deliverables where directly managing space projects and in conjunction with supervising/ coaching the corporate space planning team on best practices.
  • Lead and manage Marketing or Sales strategic initiatives with directional guidance from VP of Marketing or Director of Category Management. Collaborate with various teams(IT, Tools & Capabilities, Planning & Analysis, and PRGM) on the execution and implementation of completed projects across UNITED territories.
  • Communicate with Reset Team on any Marketing and Space Team initiatives. Collaborate to gather insights on any merchandising or space activities within the cold vault or warm section sets.
  • Manage and coach team on space planning system (JDA software, internal tools, and space methodologies) to ensure plan-o-grams are efficient for divisions to execute which meet CCBCU standards, retailer, and consumer needs driving segmentation capabilities.
  • Lead NRS work and manage the space portion of the category captain process including customer facing interaction. Coach and manage team on this collaborative process. Collaborate with the director and category team members where appropriate onprojects.
  • Manage space resources including our image library to ensure latest images are available for team use in JDA software. Explore new tools for future use. Interact with CCNA onspace related innovation, updates, and resources.
  • Collaborate with Directors on long range space strategy initiatives and support for the regions leveraging segmentation capabilities across UNITED.
What you need to succeed:
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
  • B.A. and/or 10+ years of relevant experience working for a CPG company or DSD supplier in a space planning role with time that includes customer facing experience. Some experience leading beverage CPG space teams is highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of the entire space planning process including category optimization, space to opportunity, the category captain process, application of outlet segmentation, brand standards, solution selling to the customer, and team training to deliver world-class space planning work across the space planning team.
  • Expert level skill set in JDA space planning software including product attributes, charting, reporting, print layouts, script writing, and all necessary functions to fully leverage the software to deliver planograms for customers.
  • Strong analytical capabilities. High degree of functionality in MS Excel to generate reports and manage customer data as required in the space planning role. Proficiency in PowerBI for reporting needs in space planning is highly desired.
  • Proven solution-selling and influencing skills. Comfortable influencing internal and external customers via in person meetings, presentations, and email communication on space planning initiatives.
  • Creative problem solver who can proactively define, assess, solve, and communicate effectively.
  • Superior presentation skills including online and live formats across a variety of multi-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills to manage projects, the team, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage self to meet all commitments and prioritize work moving projects forward to completion.
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills comfortable with all levels inside the organization.
  • Open to routine feedback, communication, and being self-driven to grow personal toolbox of skills.
  • Open to travel in and out of state to meetings including overnight where required. Up to 50%.
  • Willingness to follow all required company policies and procedures as they evolve in the organization.
Physical Requirements

Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
