As an Engineering Specialist, you'll be responsible for writing and overseeing technical product descriptions, using CAD systems for release of drawings, and participating as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.

What you'll do:

  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.

  • Executes preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.

  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.

  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.

  • Perform engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components. Solve design problems and check computations contributing to analytical designs.

  • Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (AutoCAD, Solidworks) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical designs.

  • Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.

  • Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.

  • Determines content of items required in support of costing estimates for proposals. This may include developing bills of materials, engineering hours, proto-type requirements, tooling requirements, non-recurring engineering, qualification and certification action requirements.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training in an aircraft MRO environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience preparing documentation and overhaul manuals.

  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft products required such as Excel and Word.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Solid works or similar CAD software.

  • Experience with aircraft related activity, to include aircraft maintenance and interior standard practice.

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects, multiple deadlines and meet aggressive schedules.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field)

  • Experience in MRO and/or aerospace industry

  • Possess strong organization and planning skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills, team building skills
