Summary

A company

specializing in premium specialty Japanese consumer products is seeking a

detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join their team in

Torrance, CA.

This position

provides critical administrative support across front-office reception, general

facility operations, and human resources/safety compliance.

This is an ideal

entry-level opportunity for a motivated administrative professional who is

eager to launch and grow their career in Human Resources. The candidate will

gain hands-on experience in compliance, safety programs, employee records

management, and daily office operations within a supportive corporate

environment.

Essential

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Office &

Administrative Support



  • Create

    a welcoming atmosphere in the reception area and ensure meeting rooms and

    common spaces (kitchen, breakrooms, restrooms) remain tidy and

    professional.
  • Greet

    visitors, maintain visitor logs, verify purpose of visits, and notify

    internal staff upon arrival.
  • Monitor,

    track, and replenish office and facility supply inventory across the

    building.
  • Process,

    sort, and distribute incoming mail; manage outgoing shipments in

    coordination with the Logistics team.
  • Maintain

    the company asset log, research disposal methods, and coordinate

    documentation with Accounting.


Human

Resources & Safety Compliance



  • Maintain

    accurate employee personnel files, safety records, and general compliance

    documentation.
  • Assist

    management with the execution and monitoring of workplace safety programs.
  • Conduct

    monthly safety inspections throughout the facility, which includes using a

    step ladder to test emergency exit signs and safety equipment.
  • Maintain

    safety training logs and assist with mandatory legal compliance trainings.


General &

Operational Support



  • Continuously

    seek opportunities to streamline office processes and enhance operational

    efficiency.
  • Uphold

    high ethical standards and adhere to all corporate guidelines and safety

    protocols.
  • Perform

    other administrative and operational duties as assigned.



Qualifications



  • High

    School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum

    of 1 year of administrative or front-office experience.
  • Valid

    driver's license with a reliable personal vehicle (for occasional local

    errands).


  • Proficiency

    in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent

    interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong

    attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with

    discretion.
  • Ability

    to climb a step ladder to perform routine safety checks (e.g., testing

    emergency exit signs).
  • Ability

    to sit for extended periods, walk, reach, and occasionally lift or move up

    to 50 lbs.
  • Prior experience working within a Japanese corporate environment or a deep appreciation for Japanese culture and business etiquette.
  • Prior

    exposure to HR administrative tasks, file auditing, or safety program

    tracking (preferred).


The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
