Hiring Range

The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary or hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $57,000- $65,000.

Job Closing Date

This position is full on-site.

This position is based in-office at the Fresno Center and requires travel throughout the Northern San Joaquin Valley.

This position is a 2-year contract and is eligible for full UC benefits.

Must maintain a valid CA DL, a clean Department Motor Vehicle record, and the Department Motor Vehicle Pull-Notice Program enrollment.

About the Job

The Coordinator, Office of K-20 Regional Alliances, provides administrative, operational, and programmatic support for regional K-20 education partnerships led by the UC Merced Center for Educational Partnerships. This position supports the planning, implementation, coordination, and documentation of partnership activities across K-12, community college, university, workforce, and community-based partners.

The Coordinator assists with project management, meeting and event coordination, partner communication, data and document tracking, administrative processes, and general implementation support for regional initiatives. This role helps ensure that partnership activities are organized, timely, and aligned with project goals, grant requirements, and institutional expectations.

The Coordinator works closely with the Executive and Assistant Directors and project teams to support regional collaboratives, convenings, academies, workgroups, sub-award processes, partner meetings, and technical assistance activities. This includes preparing agendas and materials, coordinating logistics, tracking deliverables, maintaining records, supporting communications, and assisting with follow-up actions.

The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Coordinator serves as an important point of support for internal team members and external partners, helping advance the office's work to strengthen educational pathways, increase access, and support regional student success across the K-20 continuum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and manage meetings, convening, and regional events. Plan and support the successful execution of partner meetings, workgroups, academies, convenings, trainings, and other regional events, including scheduling, logistics, room reservations, catering, materials, registration, technology needs, and day-of event support.

  • Support partner communication and relationship management. Serve as a professional point of contact for K-12, postsecondary, workforce, community, and regional partners by coordinating communication, responding to inquiries, tracking follow-up items, and helping maintain strong, responsive working relationships across partnership initiatives.

  • Develop and distribute partner communications and newsletters. Assist with the development, organization, and distribution of regular partner updates, newsletters, announcements, event invitations, and other communications that highlight project activities, deadlines, partner successes, and opportunities for engagement.

  • Track project activities, deliverables, and follow-up actions. Maintain organized records of meeting notes, attendance, partner contacts, event participation, timelines, deliverables, and next steps to support project implementation, reporting, and accountability across multiple regional initiatives.

  • Prepare materials and support facilitation needs for partnership activities. Develop, format, and organize agendas, slide decks, handouts, sign-in sheets, surveys, briefing documents, and follow-up materials needed for partner meetings, workgroups, events, and technical assistance activities.

  • Provide administrative and operational support for regional alliance initiatives. Support the day-to-day coordination of K-20 Regional Alliances projects by assisting with calendar management, purchasing and fiscal processes, travel arrangements, vendor coordination, data collection support, and other administrative tasks that ensure smooth project operations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood or elementary school education or related area and three years of progressively responsible related experience or equivalent experience/training. (Required)

  • Master's degree in related area from an accredited institution. (Preferred)

  • 3 years of progressively responsible related experience and/or combination of experience and training. (Required)

  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience and /or combination of experience and training. (Preferred)

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.

  • Knowledge and understanding of K-20 education systems.

  • Knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.) and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. (Preferred)

  • Experience supporting educationally disadvantaged and academically at-risk populations and their families regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers. (Preferred)

  • Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts.

  • Able to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
