Overview

TRC is seeking a Business DevelopmentAssociate for the TVA for Business and Industry Program serving the commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs with the Tennessee Valley and located in the Mississippi Region.

This position is responsible for delivering program awareness, identifying opportunities, and achieving program participation to support energy savings and demand goals. These efforts will be executed through:

Tennessee Valley region, greater Mississippi area. The ideal candidate will have an existing professional experience working in the energy efficiency industry.

**Candidate must reside in the Tennessee Valleyfor client service necessities. **


Responsibilities

  • Direct engagement with Local Power Companies, End-Use Customers and TVA Program Staff.
  • Working with Regional and National trade allies.
  • Educating on program rule set and process and assistingin application submissions.
  • Working with Program management on targeted program related tasks.
  • Executing marketing strategies to include local conferences, webinars and program engagements.
  • Attending scheduled program events.
  • Develop program strategies that aid in supporting area managers and program efficiency goals.
  • Hosting in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Identifying energy efficiency opportunities.
  • Conducting program demos and education training.
  • Submitting incentive applications on behalf of program participants.
  • Aiding in overall outreach efforts.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor-s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 5+ years of related energy experience or overall sales/consulting experience.
  • Familiarity/knowledge of electrical energy efficiency core technology areas such as HVAC, lighting, controls, compressed air/etc.
  • Possess a valid driver-s license with clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.
  • Able to travel by car daily within assigned territory.
  • Resident of Mississippi or general surrounding region required. Must reside within the TVA footprint.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong customer service skills to include highly effective communication in person, over email, and over the phone.
  • Self-driven and a team player
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with program participants and market partners.
  • Strong speaking skills to help present in-person engagements.
  • Ability to effectively work across multiple internal functions (engineering, marketing, operations)
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with program participants and market partners.
  • Must be able to engage with program participants in-person and travel around the territory.

Organizational Skills:

  • Excellent time management skills including the ability to monitor and manage efficiency project progress while seeking additional opportunities for new or repeat customers.
  • Be able to maintain a schedule for consistent follow-up communication with local power companies, trade allies and end-use customers.
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn multiple program rules and requirements, and be able to adapt programmatic changes.
  • Required to learn and use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or a similar system to effectively track business development activities.
  • Will be required to maintain consistent project pipeline and convert opportunities into incentive applications.
  • Proficiency with computer and mobile technology devices.
  • Ability reach and monitor performance metrics/KPIs to support program goals.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
