As a dynamic and growing division of IDEXX, BioAnalytics specializes in animal health monitoring, preclinical laboratory pathology services, and biologic materials testing, including Cell Line Authentication.

As a Software Testing Analyst I for IDEXX BioAnalytics, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of software that supports cutting-edge scientific research. As part of the IDEXX BioAnalytics IT team, you'll validate new functionality, develop automated and manual testing strategies, and help deliver high-quality software that laboratory professionals and customers rely on every day.

Our technology team develops and supports a customized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) platform that serves as the operational backbone of BioAnalytics laboratory services. The platform manages the complete laboratory workflow-from customer orders and sample processing through testing, reporting, billing, and customer master data. You'll help ensure the quality and reliability of this platform while supporting the BioAnalytics Client Portal, our customer-facing application for online ordering, sample tracking, and laboratory reporting.

In This Role

  • You will develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for new software functionality and enhancements.
  • You will execute manual, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing across web applications and backend systems.
  • You will identify, document, prioritize, and validate software defects through resolution.
  • You will partner closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • You will develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and release quality.
  • You will validate enhancements to our customized LIMS platform and BioAnalytics Client Portal.
  • You will help define and track software quality metrics, including test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
  • You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen software quality and testing processes.
  • You will serve as a quality advocate by promoting testing best practices across the development team.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 2-3+ years of software quality assurance or software testing experience.
  • Experience developing test plans, writing test cases, and executing structured software testing.
  • Experience testing web applications, APIs, and enterprise software.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and methodologies.
  • Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for validating application data.
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), healthcare technology, or scientific/laboratory software is highly desirable.

* Base annual salary target: $70000 - $85000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
