Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Experienced Water Resources Engineer in Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the design team with preparation of roadway drainage and stormwater designs
  • Performing hydrology and hydraulics design calculations for roadway/site drainage
  • Performing design calculations for stormwater management and erosion and sediment control
  • Performing hydrology and hydraulics calculations for bridge and culverts
  • Coordinating with multiple utility owners, MDOT, municipalities and regulatory agencies
  • Preparing or modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
  • Preparing design computations and quantity estimates
  • Assisting with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects
  • Some travel will be required

A valid driver's license and frequent travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil / environmental engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in drainage and stormwater management designs
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software experience
  • Ability to read engineering plans, contours, and drafting
  • Utility coordination and design experience
  • Municipal engineering design experience

Salary Range: $91,000-$120,000 (annual) - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
