Position Highlights

The W.A. Franke Honors College is seeking candidates for a Coordinator, Undergraduate Research Programs position. This person is responsible for supporting efforts to connect Franke Honors students to research and creative expression experiences throughout their undergraduate education with the goal of graduating students with Honors. This role will support the Assistant Director, Research, Creative Expression and Professional Initiatives in facilitating signature programs such as Quest, Exploratory Mini-Grants, Pinnacle, and preparation for the Honors Thesis.

The Coordinator will provide key administrative and operational support in developing new undergraduate research programs and partnerships.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitate enrollment of students into various undergraduate research programs, such as Quest and Exploratory Mini-Grants.
  • Develop marketing materials and communications to share with campus partners and Franke Honors students directly.
  • Present information sessions and preparation workshops to student audiences.
  • Assist students with questions about enrollment processes and host office hours to support student project development.
  • Provide administrative program support, including communication with
    faculty, staff, and students under direction of supervisor; event planning and
    execution duties for Pinnacle research symposium, information
    sessions/workshops, and other events as needed; record keeping for Quest,
    Exploratory Mini-Grant processes, and other undergraduate research programs.
  • Provide direct support to students via one-on-one appointments to
    develop students' research goals and match them with existing Franke Honors
    College and University of Arizona programs.
  • Assist supervisor with assessment and administration of
    Quest, Exploratory Mini-Grants, Pinnacle, and other undergraduate research
    programs.
  • Serve as part of the Franke Honors College Student
    Engagement Team and the broader Franke Honors College staff, collaborating with
    colleagues to offer support and seek assistance on shared initiatives where
    appropriate.
  • Potential to mentor
    student groups in the Franke Honors College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals in written and spoken modalities.
  • Skill in public speaking and presenting information to large groups.
  • Experience with Qualtrics, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
