Overview/ Job Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Readiness Engineer Sustainment Support to provide business analysis, fielding, readiness, and sustainment support for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Element. This position will support the planning and execution of new hardware and software fielding activities, assess operational readiness, coordinate Field Readiness Reviews, and support the transition of new capabilities into operational environments.

The successful candidate will work across engineering, logistics, maintenance, operations, training, and program management organizations to translate technical requirements and program objectives into executable fielding activities. The position will also support readiness assessments, identify and resolve fielding risks, and develop and deliver GMD system overview and familiarization training for personnel supporting the program.

Responsibilities
    Lead and coordinate fielding activities for new GMD hardware and software builds, including planning, scheduling, readiness assessment, deployment, and transition to operations.
  • Support and lead Field Readiness Reviews (FRRs) by coordinating readiness criteria, identifying gaps and risks, and tracking actions through resolution.
  • Coordinate across engineering, logistics, maintenance, operations, software, cybersecurity, and program management organizations to support successful fielding and operational transition.
  • Assess fielding and operational readiness by analyzing program data, identifying dependencies and risks, and developing recommendations for program leadership.
  • Develop and maintain fielding plans, schedules, readiness metrics, action trackers, briefings, and other program documentation.
  • Develop and deliver GMD system overview and familiarization training associated with fielded capabilities, hardware/software upgrades, and system changes.
  • Coordinate with technical and operational personnel to ensure GMD training materials accurately reflect current system capabilities, configurations, interfaces, and operational concepts.
  • Support requirements development, process improvement, and standardized processes for GMD fielding and readiness activities.
  • Provide clear status reporting and decision-support products to government and program leadership regarding fielding progress, readiness, risks, and issues.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supporting the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program.
  • Experience leading or coordinating the fielding of new hardware and/or software builds.
  • Experience supporting or leading Field Readiness Reviews (FRRs).
  • Experience developing, coordinating, or delivering GMD system overview, familiarization, or system-level training.
  • Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional activities involving engineering, logistics, operations, maintenance, and program management organizations.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, action trackers, readiness assessments, and status reports.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, issues, dependencies, and operational constraints.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with GMD hardware and software fielding processes.
  • Experience supporting GMD operational readiness, sustainment, or system integration activities.
  • Experience developing or executing Field Readiness Reviews and associated entrance and exit criteria.
  • Experience coordinating field installations, upgrades, software deployments, hardware replacements, or system modifications.
  • Experience developing system overview briefings, training materials, operator familiarization materials, or technical presentations.
  • Strong understanding of GMD system architecture, capabilities, interfaces, and operational concepts.
  • Familiarity with GMD maintenance, sustainment, engineering, and operational organizations and processes.
  • Experience working with government and industry stakeholders in a missile defense environment.
  • Experience with requirements management, configuration management, or change management.
  • Experience using program management and information systems to track fielding, readiness, and sustainment activities.
  • PMP, Agile, or comparable project/business analysis certification is desirable.
