Clinical Trainer and Technical Consultant (Casual)

Position Overview

This position serves as a clinical trainer, curriculum developer, and technical consultant to support the professional development of the behavioral health workforce through developing and providing online, live-virtual, and in-person training and technical assistance, with a focus on co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.

CPT provides high-quality, culturally and trauma-responsive, competency-based workshops, trainings, resources, and technical assistance to service counties, agencies, centers, and community providers seeking to enhance their skills and/or fulfill continuing education requirements.

This temporary/casual role will focus on developing curriculum content and technology transfer resources, as well as facilitating workshops in direct alignment with CPT's emphasis on practice-enhancing, evidence-informed, and skills-based behavioral health practices.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $35 - $40 per hour. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.

Job Responsibilities

Curriculum Development (60%)

• Design and produce asynchronous training content, including scripting, recording, and editing educational videos.

• Build interactive, digitally accessible, online learning modules.

• Ensure all training materials meet professional continuing education requirements and align with established competencies.

• Design, write, and update culturally and trauma-responsive curriculum content, training modules, and technology transfer resources for online, live-virtual, and in-person delivery.

Curriculum Delivery (20%)

• Deliver engaging, competency-based interactive workshops and training sessions for county staff, agency leaders, and community behavioral health providers.

Technical Support (20%)

• Write actionable technical support materials and toolkits.

• Translate complex concepts into practical tools behavioral health practitioners can readily apply in their daily practice.

• Provide targeted technical consultation to help agencies and organizations implement evidence-informed, skills-based behavioral health practices.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to develop and deliver courses in ways that effectively account for a variety of diverse backgrounds, communities, identities, and abilities.

• Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field (clinical license preferred).

• Strong clinical background and experience in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

• Demonstrated commitment to a strong recovery orientation, grounded in person-centered, strengths-based practices.

• Strong hands-on experience with online course and workshop development, specifically including video production and interactive online module creation.

• Exceptional ability to distill complex clinical, theoretical, or technical concepts into clear, user-friendly resources for frontline practitioners.

• Proven ability to research, evaluate, and synthesize cutting-edge, peer-reviewed literature and materials into accessible training content.

• Experience delivering training across asynchronous, live-virtual, and in-person modalities.

• Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care, culturally responsive interventions, and evidence-informed behavioral health practices.

• Ability to work flexibly on an as-needed, project-by-project basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background and experience providing training in Enhanced Illness Management and Recovery (E-IMR).

Pay Range: $35-40/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
