Psychiatric LCSW-C
Job Summary

The Psychiatric LCSW-C provides clinical social work services to patients throughout the continuum of care, from admission through discharge. This role collaborates closely with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external providers to support safe, timely, and effective care. The Psychiatric LCSW-C leads clinical interventions, coordinates discharge planning, conducts therapy sessions, and serves as a resource for problem-solving, care coordination, and utilization management. This position also supports continuous improvement efforts that enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and provide age-appropriate, clinically effective social work services across assigned patient populations.
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions in the partial hospitalization program and other psychiatric settings as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to develop and support therapeutic programming for partial hospitalization.
  • Complete psychiatric intake screenings, crisis interventions, and ongoing clinical assessments.
  • Coordinate care planning with physicians, the interdisciplinary team, patients, families, and external providers to ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Advocate for patients and families, including support with insurance guidelines, third-party payer communication, and access to needed services.
  • Arrange consultations and referrals for medical, financial, environmental, and discharge planning needs.
  • Serve as liaison to community resources, care providers, and payers to support treatment authorization and discharge planning.
  • Provide consultation to medical staff regarding patients with psychiatric needs.
  • Support utilization management functions in the absence of the Psychiatry Case Manager.
  • Participate in hospital committees, education, outreach, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field with relevant coursework in psychology, psychotherapy, counseling, or group dynamics.
  • Current Maryland LCSW-C license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Salary Range: Minimum 34.62/hour - Maximum 57.19/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
