Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Intern role within the organisation that will take on projects from initiation to completionduring the extent of their time with the team. The successful candidate will have visibilityacross many functional groups (engineering, operations, maintenance, etc.) and willcontinuously support to optimize safety and manufacturing processes, standard operatingprocedures, and assist with process improvement projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform diverse engineering activities involving design and/or redesign of testingequipment
  • Perform creation of layout, detail, and assembly drawings
  • Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance withestablished policies, standards, and objectives; establish and/or update engineeringstandards and specifications as needed
  • Work with senior engineers to ensure projects meet design specifications and arecompleted on time and within budget
  • Provide technical support for testing and facility operations
  • Perform other duties as required by management
  • Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies

Specific Projects:

  • P&ID verifications / field verify accuracy
  • Identify all equipment associated with the P&IDs and verify equipment data isaccurate
  • Identify all missing and incorrect equipment/data and redline P&ID with correct data
  • Identify systems with missing P&IDs
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure field data matches SAP data forequipment and update as needed
  • Final presentation to be presented to site leadership at the end of summer presentingh/her learning experience, and detailed scope of project

The Mechanical Engineering Intern can expect to gain practical experience in a broadrange of areas such as:

  • Learn how to design and develop technical solutions to achieve business objectivesand how to test your ideas.
  • Work independently - to learn how to plan things out carefully
  • Learn how to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a practical situation
  • Become acquainted with real life problem solving
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University Degree program pursuing a Bachelor'sdegree in Mechanical Engineering(preferably junior or senior)
  • Coursework in engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously whenprovided work instructions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Internship Duration

  • Spring / Summer / Fall
  • Full Time

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the Maintenance Manager
