Job Summary:

The Medical Fiber Manufacturing Technician operates and monitors cleanroom manufacturing equipment used to assemble medical fiber optic products, working the 2nd shift and eligible for shift differential pay. This role troubleshoots automated and manual production stations, performs fiber handling, stripping, cleaving, and inspection processes, maintains cleanroom and contamination control standards, and supports engineering qualification activities to help the team meet daily production goals.

Job Profile:



  • Monitor and operate the equipment, instruments, and manufacturing processes used to assemble medical fiber products
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated line manufacturing stations
  • Follow written manufacturing procedures and complete inspection documentation
  • Maintain clean room standards, contamination control practices, and workstation organization
  • Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance activities to ensure equipment functionality, cleanliness, and production readiness
  • Monitor production processes, identify abnormalities, assist with troubleshooting fiber damage and process deviations, and support daily production goals
  • Support engineering experiments to evaluate new components, materials, and processes by collecting data, performing testing, and providing feedback to support production implementation
  • Support and assist in IQ, OQ, and PQ qualifications and associated reports


Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to support training, inventory control, material handling, and overall production readiness

Requirements:

Education requirements



  • High school diploma is required
  • Associates of Science degree in engineering, optics, manufacturing, or related technical field preferre


Experience requirements



  • 2-5 years of manufacturing or cleanroom experience, preferably in medical device or fiber optic assembly preferred
  • Experience working under cleanroom protocols (ISO Class environments, gowning, contamination control) preferred
  • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical diagnostics on manual and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with fiber handling, stripping, cleaving, and inspection processes preferred
  • Proficient in using test equipment such as microscopes, digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, lab power supplies, etc.
  • Proficient in light manufacturing and assembly equipment such as PCB soldering stations, wire cutters/strippers, screwdrivers, tape measure, wrenches and other small hand tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word programs
