Department (OC) Office of ScienceJob Description: Responsibilities The Hourly Project Assistant II will provide support for healthcare facilities to improve reporting of involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations in New York State. The incumbent will assist with conducting outreach to these facilities to enable improved reporting procedures related to data quality, timeliness and completeness. The Hourly Project Assistant II will work with facilities to improve their quality assurance/quality control. The incumbent will also assist with analyzing data to identify potential reporting problems. Other appropriate related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Undergraduate or Graduate Student enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related field; OR two years of experience with data analytics or computer programming in Python, R, or SAS. Preferred Qualifications Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with data analysis using Microsoft Excel, SAS, Python or R. Experience with SQL coding. Experience with relational databases. Conditions of Employment Hourly, grant funded position expected to last through 08/31/2026. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
