This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Greenwich Drive (San Diego, CA) and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The part-time Technical Project Manager (.5 time) plays a critical role supporting the full-time Technical Project Manager in the execution of web-related projects and other digital initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DX, development, content, and marketing to ensure successful project intake, scoping, delivery, adherence to timelines, and alignment with business goals. Your technical expertise and project management skills will drive the success of our web projects.

Key Responsibilities:

CMS Expertise:

  • Become an expert in our customized instance of Optimizely CMS.

  • Help identify errors and inconsistencies in modules throughout the website.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for website development and enhancement projects.

  • Create detailed project plans, including tasks, milestones, and resource allocation.

  • Coordinate with PM, developers, designers, and content creators to ensure seamless execution.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Communicate the impact of updates, bugs, and other changes to appropriate teams.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and dependencies.

  • Attend team meetings and facilitate effective communication across departments to keep everyone informed.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to website projects.

  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

  • Proactively address issues to minimize project disruptions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure website functionality, usability, and performance meet established standards.

  • Conduct thorough testing and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Address any defects or issues promptly.

  • Perform occasional updates and maintenance to website.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and resource allocations.

  • Optimize resource utilization while maintaining quality.

  • Collaborate with finance and HR teams as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Related experience: managing web-related projects and other digital initiatives objectives.

  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant way.

  • Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work.

  • Thorough knowledge of content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web production and organization-specific computer application programs.

  • Thorough skills to create clear, easy-to-navigate, informative, accurate, well-designed, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the organization's message and in keeping with management directives and client objectives.

  • Thorough understanding of organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communications.

  • Thorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and / or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities.

  • Thorough interpersonal communication skills.

  • Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hands-on experience in customized, modular content management systems (e.g., Optimizely, Sitecore, Kentico, Adobe AEM, Drupal).

  • Project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Trello).

  • Experience with website development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
