Job Title: Academic Technology Business/Systems Analyst

Position Overview:
The University of Minnesota's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a Business/Systems Analyst to join our Academic Technology division. The Academic Technology Tools team is focused on designing and supporting technology solutions that directly advance the learning, research, and outreach mission of the University. The team is responsible for the maturation and high-level operational support of a suite of enterprise applications directly supporting teaching and learning, including the institution's learning management system, survey software, and academic integrity applications, as well as other platforms and tools used for instructional purposes. The role of the Business/Systems Analyst is to support the administration of these enterprise applications in context. They seek to understand the University's evolving institutional needs and ensure that our academic technology solutions meet those needs, while remaining in alignment with broader institutional strategies and priorities.

Responsibilities:
* Administer and configure enterprise SaaS solutions.
* Analyze and evaluate learning tool applications based on user requirements, business needs, and security imperatives.
* Analyze and address Tier 3 application support requests, including a rotating on-call status.
* Identify or isolate the root causes of problems and identify potential solutions.
* Evaluate issue patterns and make recommendations for future improvements.
* Manage multiple simultaneous small projects from concept to completion. Communicate with sponsors and stakeholders to ensure desired outcomes are achieved and expectations are effectively managed. Elicit and document business requirements, create functional designs, and generate related process flows.
* Develop test conditions based on business requirements. Execute functional and system tests.
* Learn new applications, technologies, and skills independently through hands-on experimentation. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and services.
* Collaborate with teammates in Academic Technology and colleagues across stakeholder organizations to continuously improve the services provided by the team to the University community.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (Please document on resume)
* Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or a master's degree.
* Experience administering a software application essential to business requirements.
* Experience eliciting and documenting user and business requirements using techniques appropriate to the audience and environment.
* Experience actively participating in or leading cross-functional teams to resolve complex challenges or launch new services.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience administering a learning or content management system, academic integrity platform, or similar enterprise software application in use in higher education.
* Knowledge of software development practices and SQL proficiency.
* Experience with FeedbackFruits, VoiceThread, Turnitin, or similar applications.
* Familiarity with SAFe Agile practices.
* Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with a large and diverse group of influential stakeholders and to identify strategic needs.
* Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple work assignments. Ability to create work breakdown structure, establish timelines, and achieve desired outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with external vendors.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $76,000-$85,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
