Job Description:

This is an entry-level position in the Operations group for someone eager to learn mechanical assembly and finishing operations under direct supervision. You will perform various assembly, sealing, and finishing tasks on production hardware, including hermetic sealing, laser welding, paint touch-up, epoxy application, and hardware installation. This role provides hands-on training in laser operations, mechanical assembly techniques, quality inspection, and manufacturing processes following our Manufacturing Execution System.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Performing basic hermetic sealing operations using laser welder under supervision
  • Learning to work in a glovebox environment with machine tools and precision instruments
  • Performing paint touch-up on production assemblies as needed
  • Applying epoxy sealing and epoxy staking to components per work instructions
  • Torquing hardware to specification using torque wrenches and following documented procedures
  • Interpreting drawings, written instructions, and routers to complete assigned tasks
  • Inspecting completed work for conformance to specifications with guidance
  • Reading and following laser weld diagrams, drawings, and assembly instructions
  • Loading fixtures and making basic process adjustments under supervision
  • Utilizing a microscope to inspect parts and identify quality issues
  • Performing basic tooling setup per work instructions
  • Maintaining quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System
  • Monitoring and documenting operational issues and reporting to supervisor
  • Meeting production schedules and deadlines according to quality standards
  • Self-monitoring of workmanship and seeking feedback for improvement
  • Understanding and following all safety requirements in use of manufacturing equipment
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in training opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, routers, and written/verbal instructions in English
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Willingness to learn laser equipment, tooling, and processes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferred but not required
  • Flexible and willing to work on a variety of jobs depending on business need
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn ESD procedures
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive attitude
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a flexible and changing environment
  • Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment
  • Previous experience with hand tools, torque wrenches, or precision instruments
  • Post-secondary technical education or CNC training
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
