Job Summary

Works within the Salt Room production area, performing a variety of manufacturing activities to support safe and efficient operations. Responsibilities include lifting and handling materials, blending and dispensing materials, operating production equipment, performing light assembly, cleaning work areas, disposing of waste, and completing other manual tasks as needed within the Pet Care manufacturing environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve company goals related to productivity, safety, quality, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Inspect and package salt products, including bags, buckets, and other containers, ensuring all finished products meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Safely and efficiently package finished products to support production goals and prevent disruptions to operations.
  • Safely and effectively perform all tasks associated with material additions and handling.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for operational issues and opportunities, implementing immediate countermeasures when appropriate and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Perform operator-level preventive maintenance (PM) activities and support Maintenance with scheduled PMs as required.
  • Safely operate powered equipment within a manufacturing environment in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
  • Safely work from Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), including scissor lifts and boom lifts, as required.
  • Ensure all materials are accurately and appropriately labeled prior to transfer into or out of the Salt Room.
  • Perform both physical and electronic production changeovers as directed by supervision.
  • Maintain ownership of Flex-related activities, including daily adjustments, accurate system displays, and proper documentation of downtime reason codes.

Education and Experience Profile

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred, with a minimum of three months of experience preferred.

Required Skills

Basic computer skills preferred, including the ability to navigate production-related systems and complete required electronic documentation.


Work Environment

  • Repetitive movements are required throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to work safely in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be available to work across multiple shifts based on business needs.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator, and steel-toed footwear.
  • Must be able to safely perform work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, varying temperatures, and other conditions typical of manufacturing operations.



Working Conditions:
Working conditions are generally consistent with those of a manufacturing environment.

The hourly range for this role is $19/hr to $25/hr. An employee's pay within the hourly range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs. This position is not eligible for an annual merit increase, incentive compensation, or a comprehensive benefits package.
