Position Title: Scientist I

Work Location: Swiftwater, PA, USA 18370

Assignment Duration: 12 Months

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Work Schedule: M-F, 8-4:30pm est.

Notes:

* MS and PHD degrees will be considered overqualified

Must have:

* MS Office Suite

* Min of 1-3 years of experience (max experience 3 years, over this would be considered over qualified)

* Must have lab experience displayed on resume

Nice to Have:

* Running hemagglutination testing, SDS-PAGE chromatography, and PCR

* Experience working with viruses is a plus

Position Summary: Industrial Operations at our organization's Swiftwater, Pennsylvania site, the largest vaccine manufacturing facility in the US, continues to develop its manufacturing assets to produce existing and new vaccines and biopharmaceuticals.

Background & Context: Support and assist production of high growing flu virus reassortants, flu reference antigen, and antisera.

Key Responsibilities:

* Execution of small scale experiments, working with eggs and flu virus.

* Support and assist production of high growing flu virus reassortants, flu reference antigen, and antisera.

* Running hemagglutination testing, SDS-PAGE, chromatography, and PCR.

* Ordering and maintaining supplies and materials and shipping materials as needed.

* Working with outside vendors as needed.

* Shipping biological samples for sequencing.

* Writing internal development protocols and reports related to project.

* Sample management between labs, manufacturing buildings, and analytical sciences department.

Qualification & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree required; science/biology field preferred.

* 1+ years of laboratory experience (academic lab experience accepted)

* Experience working with viruses is a plus
