The Project Controls Manager - Scheduling is responsible for leading the implementation, standardization, and continuous improvement of project controls and scheduling practices across MasTec Industrial operating group. This role provides oversight, training, and governance of scheduling processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effective project performance management across MasTec Industrial.
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate and coordinate all baseline development steps, reviews and pull planning sessions to all stakeholders internally and externally
- Provide management and training schedulers on scheduling and planning functions, processes, tools, procedures and best practices
- Provide guidance to project management on schedule analysis, project controls analysis, trends, performance, schedule forecasting, Time Impact Analysis, and scheduling claims
- Coordinate resources and participants engaged in scheduling activities
- Compile, review and analyze scheduling related data and interface with upper management and project teams to provide innovative solutions to scheduling performance
- Lead project reviews on schedule performance, planning, change management, progressing, and proactive reporting
- Develop schedule practices and procedures as directed
- Assist/train project management in use of scheduling/control tools
- Works independently on complex assignments
- Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for all schedulers or assigned employees
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification and/or Project Scheduling Professional (PSPPMI-SP) certification preferred
- 8+ years of related experience in planning & scheduling on engineering and/or construction projects
- 2+ years of leading scheduling groups
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
- May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.
- Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals.
- Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions.
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
- Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
