In the role of Economic Consultant I, we'll count on you to:

Develop an understanding of industry-leading best practices for economic modeling -
Strengthen data visualization skills through preparation of materials for client presentations -
Collaborate with and learn from experienced economists recognized in their areas of specialization -
Work with your supervisor to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment -
Assess data quality based on primary source -
Gain familiarity with economic techniques such as econometrics, forecasting, and data-driven decision support tools -
Gain familiarity with data analyst skills such as database management (SQL), data cleaning / data wangling, and data visualization. -
Support HDR project managers and staff as needed for quantitative/technical and qualitative settings -
Perform research and write reports that connect quantitative and qualitative ideas and approaches -
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Microsoft Access -
Background in economics, business or similar program -
Demonstratable / proven analytical and problem-solving skills -
Master's degree preferred in Economics or related field -
Experience with analytical packages or programming languages (SQL, SAS, Eviews, SPSS, Visual Basic, R, Python, etc.) -
Experience with geographic information systems packages or programming languages (ArcGIS, Q-GIS, R sf, Python GeoPandas & SciPy, GeoDa, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Background in statistics
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be adept at working within a team environment
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
