Machinist

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or certification in Machine Tool Technology, CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of machining experience and technical training will be considered.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining, machine shop, or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines.
• Ability to write and modify basic CNC programs.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting machining specifications and tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new equipment and processes.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely lift, handle, and position materials and machine components as needed.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate machinery, measuring tools, and production equipment.
• Ability to work with close tolerances and perform detailed inspection work.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced machine shop environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Job Duties

• Set up, operate, and program CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision parts according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, machine drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Load, receive, and transfer CNC programs through company network systems.
• Inspect machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform secondary operations such as deburring, stamping part numbers, and finishing components during machine cycle times.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment remains in proper working condition.
• Utilize fixtures and tooling to complete production jobs with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain work areas according to 5S standards.
• Cross-train on multiple machines and processes to support production schedules and customer deadlines.
• Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
